Terms of Service

Welcome to DOT (“During Our Trip”). By accessing or using DOT, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use DOT.

1. Description of Service

DOT is a social travel coordination platform that allows users to discover travelers on similar train routes, coordinate seating arrangements, and optionally communicate before or during travel.

DOT is not a transportation company, ticketing provider, background verification service, dating platform, law enforcement service, or security service. DOT does not operate trains or guarantee transportation services.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use DOT. By using DOT, you confirm that you are legally permitted to use the service, the information you provide is accurate, and you will comply with these Terms.

3. User Responsibility

Users are solely responsible for their interactions with others, their travel decisions, and any information voluntarily shared with other users. Any friendships, networking relationships, meetings, or exchange of personal contact information are entirely voluntary and occur at the users’ own discretion and risk. DOT does not require users to maintain contact after any trip.

4. No Guarantees or Verification

DOT does not independently verify identities, backgrounds, criminal history, ticket authenticity, or user intentions. Although train ticket purchases on NRC platforms may require identity information such as NIN, DOT does not conduct its own identity verification process.

DOT does not guarantee compatibility between users, safety of interactions, successful seat coordination, or accuracy of user-provided information.

5. Assumption of Risk

You understand and agree that interacting with strangers involves inherent risks, travel coordination decisions are made voluntarily, and DOT is not responsible for user conduct during or after trips. You assume full responsibility for your use of the platform and interactions with other users.

6. Prohibited Conduct

Users may not harass or threaten others, impersonate another person, upload false or misleading trip information, engage in fraud or scams, post unlawful or abusive content, use DOT for prostitution, exploitation, or illegal activities, attempt to harm or exploit other users, scrape or reverse engineer the platform, or violate applicable laws. DOT reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts at its discretion.

7. Messaging and Communications

Any messaging or communication features are provided solely for trip coordination and voluntary interaction purposes. DOT is not responsible for conversations between users, exchanged contact information, or communications occurring outside the platform.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, DOT, its owners, operators, employees, affiliates, and partners shall not be liable for personal injury, emotional distress, disputes, loss of property, harassment, fraud, damages arising from user interactions, or events occurring during or after trips. Your use of DOT is at your own risk.

9. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless DOT and its affiliates from claims, damages, liabilities, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the platform, your interactions with other users, or your violation of these Terms.

10. Intellectual Property

All trademarks, branding, designs, software, and content associated with DOT are the property of DOT or its licensors and may not be copied or reused without permission.

11. Platform Availability

DOT may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time without notice. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service availability.

12. Termination

DOT reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts for violations of these Terms or behavior deemed harmful to the platform or community.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws applicable in the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to conflict of law principles.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. Continued use of DOT after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
